Refund Policy

The Journal of Philosophical Criticism is committed to providing its authors and subscribers with a professional and transparent publishing experience. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds will be issued for subscription fees and article processing charges (APCs).

Subscriptions:

  • Full Refunds:

    • Subscriptions canceled before the first issue is published will be refunded in full.
    • If you are not satisfied with the first issue you receive, you may request a full refund within 30 days of receiving the issue.
    • In the event of an error on our part (e.g., missing issue, incorrect address), a full refund will be issued for the affected issue(s).
  • Partial Refunds:

    • Subscriptions canceled after the first issue is published but before the end of the subscription period will be eligible for a partial refund, calculated based on the number of issues remaining in the subscription.

Article Processing Charges (APCs):

  • Full Refunds:

    • If your manuscript is rejected before peer review, you will receive a full refund of your APC.
    • If your manuscript is withdrawn before peer review, you will receive a full refund of your APC.
    • If there are technical errors on our part that prevent you from submitting your manuscript, you will receive a full refund of your APC.
  • Partial Refunds:

    • If your manuscript is withdrawn after peer review but before revisions are requested, you will receive a 50% refund of your APC.
    • If your manuscript is withdrawn after revisions are requested, you will not be eligible for a refund of your APC.
